The Business Census is an online registry that targets all companies and organisations in Singapore. Companies are required to provide job and work location details of all employees (Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents and Foreigners) who are under the establishment’s payroll.
It collects geospatial and employment data that our current surveys do not collect, which will be used for urban and transportation planning. Insights into employee movement and occupational trends (e.g. older workers and fresh graduates) could help in policy planning as well. It is also covered by the Statistics Act (Chapter 317), and is compulsory to complete.
In order to ensure the quality of data collected, the registry should be completed by either the business owner or a HR manager. A Corppass account is required to access the Business Census through the “For Companies” button above. If you do not have a Corppass account yet, simply head to their registration page and follow their steps to set up your account.
